Better Together: Europe Part 2: Paris Day 1 & 2

We took the chunnel from Paris to London. When we arrived in Paris we found our hotel then headed into the city. We went to the Louvre only to discover they didn’t take card and we didn’t have our debit card to pull out cash. We ended up just walking around the city in the rain, but it was just fun to be in Paris. We didn’t have our new camera yet so we have no pictures of this evening but here are a couple pictures we took later of what our hotel looked like while we stayed in Paris.

That’s the shower on the left in our room. All the components of a bathroom were there but separate which was a little strange.

The next morning, we headed first to Les Halles (the mall) to buy a camera, then to the closest museum from there to buy our museum pass.

While walking over the Seine river to the Notre Dame, we saw this man performing. There are a lot of street performers and they are usually pretty good.

Our pictures of the inside of Notre Dame didn’t turn out great because we couldn’t use flash, so these are a couple more of the outside. There were a lot of people inside but it was neat to see this amazing cathedral.

We ate lunch at in the latin quarter and it was oh so delicious. We got gyro pitas…yum! And I have no idea what this poster is for, but I thought it was funny :) In English it says “Where is Charlie?”

After eating a delicious lunch, we headed over to Sainte Chapelle which is known for its stained glass windows. The downstairs doesn’t have many stained glass windows, so when you walk upstairs, it is so amazing to see it all. When we got upstairs Bryce said “woah!” It was great.

Next, we walked over to the Louvre. I was asking Bryce what I should do for the picture and he said “that was good”.

I can’t tell which is more beautiful: The Louvre, or Bryce.

And then there is my favorite part of the city—The Eiffel Tower!!

We decided to take the stairs to the top. There are a lot of steps! But it was fun. When you get to the second level, you take this teeny tiny elevator all the way to the top. The elevator is glass so you can look out while you go up. It is a little bit freaky but oh so cool! The line to take the elevator from the base of the tower to the top was forever long! Probably at least 2 hours. Good thing we took the stairs! What lengths people will go through to not have to climb stairs…
