Happy Halloween!!

Whoops! I’m a holiday behind. Oh well. Better late than never.

So this is not Halloween but I thought I would stick it on the same post. For General Conference Weekend, Nate, Becky and I went up to Grandma Landon’s house. It was a fun relaxing weekend and it was great to catch up with Grandma. Highlights include watching conference and feeding the ducks down by the falls. Here is Bryce and I with my sweet Grandma Landon.

A few days before Halloween we had our ward Halloween Party. Last minute someone asked us to do their trunk or treat for them because their daughters were sick. We went and picked up the candy but then realized we didn’t have a bucket to pass it out in so instead we just used a grocery sack. It sort of added to our white trash costume though :). All you need for this sweet get up is a flannel shirt and a mullet wig! Don’t worry, Bryce already owned the sweet wolf shirt.

           

On actual Halloween I dressed up as a witch. I thought the white trash costume wouldn’t go over as well in Kindergarten. Here is a picture of me with my team as well as one with my school. Too bad I can’t show a picture of my cute kids on here.

And finally, the highlight of Halloween was we got to go to the doctor and have our very first ultrasound. It was such a neat experience seeing our baby. We found out we are having a baby girl! Everything looks good so far so we are indeed grateful for that. That evening we spent at the Pinder’s eating a delicious dinner and watching hocus  pocus. It was an unforgettable Halloween.

East Coast Adventure: Part 3 of 3

Washington DC!

We decided since I was already out on the East Coast we might as well do as much as we can so we rented a car and took a day trip to DC. The drive was just about 2 1/2 hours and it was well worth it.

We simply walked along the mall starting at the capitol with a few stops along the way: The botanical gardens, Air Space Museum, Holocaust museum and the Lincoln Memorial. Then we headed over to the white house.

The holocaust museum was a very sobering and depressing experience. I was very grateful for the opportunity I had to go and it definitely makes you stop and think.

The white house was a site to see. It is quite beautiful and such an American icon.

The weather could not have been more beautiful and thoroughly enjoyed our time in DC.

A bit more Philly: (My Last day there…We visited Penn Campus and went to a 76ers game that night. Sarah has pics on her phone.) It was quite a great trip to the East Coast!

East Coast Adventure: Part 2 of 3

New York City!

We took a bus up to New York which is about a 2 hour bus ride. It only cost about 20 dollars round trip to go which was pretty great.

Upon arriving there we dropped off our stuff at Sarah’s friend’s place who graciously let us stay there for the night. Then we headed into town. Our first stop was the New York Temple. I figured if I was there I might as well see the temple. From there we walked to Central Park which is so gorgeous! We got some yummy New York Pizza and explored some more of central park then headed to Rockefeller Center. I always love going to the top of really tall buildings to get a great view of the city. In the evening we went to Times Square and saw the most amazing musical: Lion King. It was a fun day in NYC!

The next day we headed to south New York. We first stopped by this things called “high line” which is an elevated walkway that used to be a railroad. It is so beautiful with all the bushes and plants that have been planted. Then we went to the 9/11 memorial. The museum isn’t open yet, but it was still a very sobering experience to be there and think about the tragedy that took place there. We then walked down to the water with a quick stop for some yummy hot cocoa and a semi picture next to the bull. We took the Staten Island Ferry which gives a great view of the Statue of Liberty and view of New York from the water. After our water excursion we made a stop at Brooklyn bridge which is under construction and quite ugly…lame. Then walked to china town to get some nice and greasy chinese food :) Then on to Little Italy for some most delicious canolis.

Our time in NY was fantastic. It was a little chilly but a small price to pay to be in such an exciting city!
