August Happenings {August 2015}

         

Dallin and I went down to Portland for Jessica’s baby shower. It was nice to have some time with my little man.

Playing with Mr. Potato Head outside to keep cool, opening all the cupboards for fun, and riding around on a little toy while babysitting at someone’s home.

We took advantage of the free night  at the museums and went to the flight museum. We picked up Bryce from work and ate a picnic lunch outside of the museum. Avery loved running through the museum and seeing all the planes.

 

Taylor Swift Concert! It was awesome! She had Russell Wilson as a guest on her show.

  

Avery has been really into “playing games lately” We just make of different ways of playing our games.

Going on a walk with Horsey, kisses for Dallin and rocking out a Summer kid’s concert.

Operating on Dallin, reading her big book in the car and taking Dallin for a ride in the shopping cart.

Avery and Dallin LOVE riding in these shopping carts, Avery cleaning the wall after she drew on it and Bryce and Avery chilling on a bench in our favorite place: the botanical gardens.

 

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRYCE!!

I’m almost more excited for Bryce’s birthday than my own because then we’re only two years apart instead of three! I braved the chocolate mint cake that Bryce’s mom would make for him growing up. It tasted pretty good even if it didn’t look as amazing. For Bryce’s birthday we went to a Mariner’s game. It was a lot of fun and Avery and Dallin did great. We were lucky because there was no one sitting very close to us so the kids had a little space to move around.

Between all the awesome beach parks and our complex pool, we got a good amount of swimming in this summer.

  

Avery frequently showers her brothers with stuff from around the house. And staying cool on the lawn in front of our apartment.

They have some pretty awesome swings around here, for awhile Dallin loved playing with these little hooks Avery’s kitchen, Avery couldn’t wait for dinner so she started eating the butter, and Avery and Dallin love looking for Bryce when he’s coming home from work.

Happy 9 Months Baby Dallin {August 18, 2015}

 

Dallin has finally figured out how to cruise around and he is speedy! Once he figured out the crawling thing he just took off. He eats lots of real foods and loves them. His favorite food is bananas. His favorite thing to do is play with the fireplace no matter how many times I tell him not to. And he loves to babble and make groaning sounds. He’s got lots of teeth, 6 now! As always he’s a happy baby, except for when he’s hungry or tired.

Annual Morris Family Coast Trip {August 12-15, 2015}

It’s always a great time going to the coast. Since we had baby Dallin we were spoiled with a yurt. After sleeping in a yurt it sure is hard to go back to a tent. We spent relaxing days on the beach and fun evenings around the campfire. Avery was in heaven for a few days. Her favorite things all at once: sand, dirt, being out side, cousins & grandparents.

On our way down I would use my phone and take a picture of Dallin to see if he was asleep. He liked looking at himself in the phone. And yes, he’s using his sister’s old pink pacifier.

The first day we got there, we set up and headed down to the beach for the sunset. It was a little cloudy the first night but the kids sure had fun playing on the beach.

When we spent the evenings by the campfire we often had a visitor, Pepe le Pew aka a little skunk. We were all terrified of getting sprayed.

We took our obligatory family picture the first full day on the beach. Love my little family.

 

For quite some time, Avery and Maggie had Bryce gather sticks so they could throw them into the water. Bryce is such a patience dad. Pretty sure I was napping on the beach during this time.

  

One evening the sunset was absolutely AMAZING. I tried to get a good picture but I don’t know that any picture could do it justice. This picture is nothing compared to what the real thing was like!

We went down to the beach one last time before heading out. We had a long drive so we couldn’t stay long but it was worth it to go one last time. Til next year!

Avery fell asleep just moments after we started driving. Nothing wears you out like the beach.
