Josh and Hadley’s Wedding! {April 14, 2017}

We drove out to Utah leaving Wednesday night after Bryce’s work and stopped in Ontario, OR for the night. We got there at about midnight and were exhausted. The kids had fallen asleep around 6:00 and were wired! They were bouncing off the walls. It took awhile to get them settled down and to sleep. I slept with Dallin and Bryce slept with Avery. Dallin is one wild sleeper! It was a wild night but it was nice to arrive early afternoon on Thursday.

Friday the ceremony was at 10:00am. Malory and Kate were nice enough to watch all our kids for us. The sealing was done by Grandpa Clark and it was beautiful. I remember taking a picture of Josh and Hadley when they walked out of the temple but I couldn’t find it on my phone.

The luncheon was at noon at Wadley farms in their castle. All the little details were beautiful. They had collected antique items to use as center pieces and had a table of “our story” with pictures and items to describe Josh and Hadley. Gourmet popcorn and fancy soda kept our mouths occupied while we waited.  The food was delicious and they had a brief entertaining program. They also had little boxes of goodies and toys to keep the kids entertained. They didn’t have a reception so it was over after the luncheon. It was a great celebration! And we ate all their cake with our bare hands after they left :)

Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point {April 17, 2017}

We didn’t have to go home until Tuesday so we had a free day on Monday so Tamara took us to the tulip festival! It was a beautiful quiet morning and we went just at the right time before the crowds came!

The gardens have this long path that weaves through different small gardens and is lined with tulips. One my favorites was the secret garden. It was sometimes hard to keep track of the kids but they sure enjoyed running along the path through the fields of flowers.

There were these huge fish and lots of them swimming in the ponds! It was hard to pull the kids away from them they were so fascinating.

The kids loved playing in the water by the waterfalls. I don’t believe they were actually supposed to put their feet in the water but they did anyway and they loved it.

Happy Easter {April 16, 2017}

Josh and Hadley’s wedding lined up perfectly with Easter so we got to celebrate Easter in Utah! We had seen on of the Disney short films where Elsa (yes, from Frozen) throws a party for Anna and she is lead to her party with string. We thought it’d be fun to do that for their Easter baskets, When they got up in the morning, we gave them their strings and had them follow their strings to their Easter baskets. Dallin lost interest real fast and Avery got a little impatient too…guess it’s better when they’re a little older but we’re going to keep with that tradition anyway! After they found the Easter baskets, they looked for the eggs they dyed the night before.

On Saturday before the Easter Egg hunt, the Pinders had an adult Easter Egg Hunt for the kids and cousins. They hid different colored jelly bellies and gave each adult a color to look for. Once we found 3 we got to pick a prize. I picked a  Panda Express gift card and Bryce got a chick fil a gift card. It was a great idea and super fun! We went to a park and played Boules while we waited for them to hide the jelly bellies. Bryce schooled me!
