We arrived on Oahu in the afternoon. After getting settled in our hotel we walked to this restaurant on the beach called Duke’s. It was sooo delicious—especially the pulled pork sandwich that Bryce got. The sand was literally feet away from where we were eating so Avery went and played in the sand while we were waiting for our food and LOVED it. Grandpa also took around on the beach.
The next morning we got up and drove to the Laie temple. Since Josh had just gone through the temple the Saturday before, it was fun to all be together in the temple and we were lucky to have Malory and Kate watch Avery.
Waikiki Beach: I really loved this beach even though it was crowded. The sand was soft and we could walk far in the water and not get stabbed with rocks. Somebody made a seat for Avery in the sand…she definitely loved the sand more than the water. On our way to the beach we saw these big sea turtles. Turns out it was just the beginning as we saw lots of these turtles the rest of our trip. I loved the walkway to the beach lined with surfboards.
We never actually swam in the hotel pool but dipped our feet in a few times. We had a great view off our 8th story balcony and Avery loved being outside.
There was a turf area outside our hotel that Avery loved to walk around on and she especially loved riding on Kate’s wheelchair the whole trip. We hardly ever used her stroller!
