Home for the Holidays {December 20-December 24}

I love going home for Christmas. My mom works so hard to make the experience great for everyone. We were lucky to have everyone home for Christmas this year. That amounted to 12 adults and 12 kids. It was quite the party! When we arrived, all 24 stockings were hung by the chimney with care. My mom is pretty awesome like that.

One evening, we did our tradition of going downtown to do some window shopping and see the lights. The lights are so simple and so beautiful in downtown Ashland.

For Christmas Eve to celebrate Jessica’s birthday. My mom planned a fun day at the church filled with games, pinata, presents for Jess, Chinese take out and an Ice Cream Sundae bar. mmm Boy!

  

That evening we had a Christmas program that included each family doing something: Bryce and I had drawn pictures to share with the family, Dave and Liz had everyone sing Jingle Bells while the kiddos rang bells, Jake and Stacey read a Christmas poem that they had written, Becky and Nate’s family sang a song, Jess and Shane’s family played “name that christmas tune” and my mom did this fun thing with the grandkids.

We also played the chimes, a Morris tradition.

My mom prepared the most delicious dinner. And set the table beautifully.
